I will give you thanks in the great assembly;
among the throngs I will praise you.
Psalm 35:18
On June 24 there is an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the blessing of Catholic Charities 100th Anniversary in the Diocese of Cleveland. Bishop Richard Lennon is hosting the Liturgy at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Downtown Cleveland at 2:00 p.m. for the purpose of Thanksgiving and Celebration.
The Cleveland Catholic Charities website relates: “It’s a time to remember our founders who were courageous enough to embark on this endeavor in the early 1900′s. Thanks to our communities to opening their hearts, pocketbooks, and minds to the work we do. Thanks to the Diocese of Cleveland for assisting us in growing our reach throughout the eight counties in Northeast Ohio that we provide services. Thanks to the board members, volunteers, government officials, and consultants who have provided invaluable guidance and support over the past 100 years. Thanks to our staff members who lovingly carryout the ministry of Christ each and every day they come to work. Thanks to the parishes that support us in countless ways. And above all, thanks to God for his divine blessing over the past ten decades.”
After the Liturgy, everyone is invited to a reception at the Galleria at Erieview to reminisce and continue to the celebration of this momentous occasion. Plan on joining many employees, volunteers, parishioners, and community as we all gather to says THANKS.
